Israeli settlers storm Aqsa Mosque on 47th anniversary of its arson

A group of Jewish settlers stormed Al Aqsa Mosque under tight security by the Israeli police on Sunday.

The mosque guards prevented the settlers from carrying out rituals inside the mosque, WAFA News Agency reported. 

Israeli police intensified what it called, security measures in the Old City of Jerusalem as this day marks the 47th anniversary of Al Aqsa Mosque arson at the hands of an Australian man who studied the Torah and wanted to build a new temple.

Israeli police deployed hundreds of officers in the streets, neighborhoods entrances and towns and is thoroughly conducting searches among Palestinians.
