Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday overnight kidnapped at least five Palestinians in different parts of the occupied West Bank, during military raids, according to Palestinian sources.
The IOF stormed three villages in the southern Hebron after midnight Sunday and kidanpped three Palestinians from their homes.
In the village of Surif, in the Hebron district, the IOF kidnapped Jamil Ghneimat after ransacking his home while his family was sleeping.
In the village of al-Shuyukh, according to locals, the IOF ransacked a four-story residential building, searching for 41-year-old Walid Mahmoud al-Hasasna, a father of 12.
Family members said Israeli soldiers inspected four apartments before they left at 4 a.m without being able to locate and detain al-Hasasna.
In Deir Samit village, the IOF kidnapped Shadi Riyad al-Huroub, locals said.
According to the IOF spokesperson, one Palestinians was kidnapped south of Ramallah, one southwest of Bethlehem, and one in Hebron, during the overnight raids. Their identities were not revelead.
In addition, Palestinian medical sources have reported, on Sunday at night, that several Palestinians were injured, after Israeli soldiers invaded Ni’lin village, west of Ramallah.
The IOF fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs at many Palestinians, and their homes, causing several injuries.
The invasion was carried out by several IOF military jeeps, and while withdrawing, one military jeep apparently lost its way, before many local residents started throwing stones and empty bottles at it.
Shortly afterwards, several IOF jeeps returned to the town, and clashed with dozens of locals, approximately for three hours, before securing the withdrawal the jeep that lost its way in one of the neighborhoods.
At the Beit Furik and Beit Dajn checkpoints, heavily-armed IOF patrols have been deployed. It further sealed off the Zaatara and Ourata checkpoints, in southern Nablus, blocking Palestinians’ access out of and into the area.
Since the beginning of 2016, the IOF have carried out a weekly average of 96 search and kidnapping operations, according to The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
