The Israeli Air Force struck several targets in Gaza Friday, killing a Palestinian child and injuring several people after the expiration of the 72 hour cease-fire which has been extended due to the failure of talks in Cairo.
Half an hour after the expiry at 0500 a.m. GMT, of the cease-fire in Beit Hanoun, "long lines of Gazans in cars, on carts or on foot, holding bags of food or clothes, headed to their shelters fearing strikes," AFP correspondent said.
"Of course we're all afraid," said Abdullah Abdullah, in an Al-Tuffah school near the city of Gaza, where hundreds of Gazans had sought refuge.
These fears were confirmed Friday with the death of a ten year old child killed by an Israeli raid that also wounded six in or near a mosque in northern Gaza City, said the Palestinian emergency services.
In addition, meetings of more than 500 civilians in towns, 40 m of the Gaza Strip are again prohibited. Activities are prohibited in gardens with no shelters against bombs, according to the same source.
The Israeli army withdrew from the territory on Tuesday after the entry into force of the cease-fire, said its operations were limited for the moment to strikes.
