North Korea fired about one hundred artillery shells into the East Sea from a place close to the military demarcation line (MDL), a military official said Monday.
"North Korea has been firing about 100 artillery shells toward northeast from a place hundreds of meters of the demilitarized zone (DMZ) in Goseong, Gangwon Province," (Yonhap) quoted the official as saying..
"The shells have fallen to the sea, 1 or 8 kilometers north of the Northern Limit Line (NLL) on the East Sea," he said.
"The North's live-fire artillery exercise is under way," said the officials, adding the North's artillery shells have not fallen into the southern part of the NLL on the East Sea.
