North Korea says it will continue to fire short-range missiles into waters off its east coast despite opposition from the US.
The North's Korean Central News Agency quoted a North Korean military spokesman as saying that North Korea's high-precision tactical guided missiles will "ceaselessly and powerfully" fly toward the enemy.
The spokesman insisted the North is exercising its right to self-protection with its short-range missile launches and military training. He added that North Korea will step up efforts to boost the strength to protect itself, according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.
North Korea fired two short-range projectiles toward the East Sea on Wednesday. Military experts believe they were fired from the North's 300-millimeter multiple-rocket launcher KN-09.
Pyongyang has fired some 90 short to mid-range projectiles on 12 different occasions since the beginning of this year.
