Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah Cairo - Hossam Al Said A number of European football teams have expressed an interest in Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah, with the press predicting the player will be snapped up by the English club Liverpool. A Liverpool Football Club official said the side wanted to sign Salah in light of his impressive performance with Swiss team FC Basel. Various websites speculated that Salah could be transferred to Liverpool, saying the player’s skills would be an asset to the English club. Soccer Italia magazine hailed Salah as the most prominent player in the Swiss League today and predicted that he will join the English Premier League in the coming season. But Liverpool has competition from fellow English club Tottenham, which has expressed an interest signing Salah, although it postponed a deal due to concerns about the player’s goal-scoring record – although the winger has improved considerably in this regard. Basel coach Murat Yakin has praised Salah’s performance and said he depends on the player during difficult matches.
