Nigeria’s Marouf Youssef has expressed his delight at renewing his contract with Egyptian giants Zamalek for two more years.
The signing came after a meeting with Mortada Mansour, chairman of Zamalek in presence of Youssef’s agent Osama Farahat.
The 23-year-old expressed his and his team readiness to win domestic Super Cup and beat long-time rivals Al Ahly in the match scheduled to take place in the United Arab of Emirates on February 10.
The Nigerian was poised to leave the White Knights this summer with Saudi side Al Wehda, who are managed by Egyptian manager Adel Abdelrahman, but the club wants to keep the Nigerian and they offered him a five-year contract but Yusuf wanted a two-year contract only, which made the negotiations came to an end earlier in December.
Moruf Yusuf joined the White Knights from fellow Egyptian side Ittihad El-Shorta in the summer of 2014 and since then he has played 83 matches for them, scoring twice and assisting 8 times.
Youssef was part of the Zamalek team which achieved the domestic double in 2015, as well as winning Egypt Cup last season with the Whites.
