Moroccan player Nabil Darar, of French Monaco football team, expressed his frustration over the performance of his national team before Cameroon during the qualifying round of African Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to be held in 2019. He added that performance of Moroccan players witnessed notable improvement during the second half, while they failed to score and missed the available opportunities.
The player added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that the major reason behind the notable deterioration witnessed in the players’ performance was the keenness of the Moroccan players to keep their fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. He praised the performance of Cameroon’s players, saying that Cameroon’s national team is considered one of the major teams in the continent and managed to win the African Cup of Nations held in Gabon this year.
He added that the Moroccan national team still has the opportunity to qualify for the African Cup of Nations, saying that they have five matches to be qualified for the continental championship. He stressed that the Moroccan team is one of the strongest teams in the continent, expressing his appreciation to their performance during the African Cup held in Gabon.
Regarding his transfer to the Turkish league, the Moroccan player said that a number of officials met with him and presented an offer to transfer to one of the prominent teams of the Turkish league, saying that he has not taken any decision to accept the offer or not. He said that he still considers the offer.
