Tétouan won the Botola league last season Rabat – Al Hocine Ahmed Moroccan league champions Moghreb Tétouan have confirmed they will play against French team Montpellier in a friendly tournament next year. The match will happen at the Grand Stade in Morocco’s northern city of Tangiers, on the 3rd of January. It is part of a tournament which also includes Moroccan IR Tanger and Spain’s Cádiz. They will open the competition organised by the Moghreb Tétouan. The club's provisional director Mohammed Ashraf Abroun told a press conference in Tangiers that the friendly tournament may be "the first edition of the Mediterranean Friendship Cup,” which the club intends to organise annually. He added that the tournament will allow the team to be tested by French opposition and show how far the players have progressed. Moghreb Tétouan have taken part in a number of friendly tournaments since winning the local league title. Abroun was also keen to stress that both Tétouan and Montpellier share the common goal of nurturing young talent.
