A blast outside a grocery shop in the northwestern city of Peshawar injured at least 11 people on Thursday, police said. Local police officer Javed Khan said the bomb was packed in an oil canister and placed outside the shop in the city’s popular Rampura Market. The 11 injured have been shifted to the Lady Reading hospital. Another police officer Shafqat Malik said three of the injured are in critical condition. He said the bomb contained about three kilograms of explosives and it damaged two shops and one vehicle parked nearby. A bomb disposal squad official said that it was an improvised explosive device (IED) carrying 3 kg of explosives. The blast comes a day after at least 12 people, including a woman and two children, were injured in an explosion in the Shah Afzal Market in Peshawar.
