Two soldiers have been killed in an attack by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Turkeys southeastern province of Mardin, the military said.
In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said the soldiers were attacked Tuesday in Nusaybin, a town on the Syrian border that had been the focus of a counter-terrorism operation since mid-March, according to according to Anadolu Agency (AA).
The Turkish army and security forces continued joint operations since mid-March in several states in the south east of the country against the armed elements.
