An employee of a New Jersey supermarket killed two co-workers on Friday before taking his own life, the Star-Ledger newspaper reported. The gunman, Terence Tyler, served in the US Marine Corps for two years, the Star-Ledger reported. He and the two people he killed were employees of the Pathmark supermarket in the town of Old Bridge about 65 kilometres south of New York City. Tyler finished his shift at the supermarket and returned to the store with an AK-47 assault rifle and an automatic pistol about 3:30 am (0730 GMT), local law enforcement officials told the newspaper. He started firing, hitting an 18-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both co-workers, county prosecutor Bruce Kaplan was quoted by the newspaper as saying. “I don’t believe they were specifically targeted. I believe everyone was targeted,” Kaplan said. About a dozen other employees fled the store unharmed.
