At least 33 people were killed and dozens were missing when floods hit a remote area in northern Pakistan, local Urdu TV channel Duniya reported. According to the TV, floods triggered by overnight heavy rains swept away dozens of houses lined along the Kundian Valley of Kohistan district, a mountainous area located some 160 km north of Pakistan''s capital Islamabad. A total of 33 bodies had been recovered while dozens of others still went missing, said the reports. Rescue work was kicked off in the flood-hit areas, but due to the inaccessibility of some of the areas in the deep mountains, army helicopters were required to airlift those trapped in the floods, local officials informed.
