Five people died and another one was injured in a landslide in Hubei Province Thursday, the local government said Friday. The accident happened at 4:30 p.m. Thursday near an iron ore mine in Lichuan City of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, the city government said in a press release. All the victims were mine workers who were building a road in the mining zone, it said. Five of them died after being buried by the landslide of rocks and dirt, and the other one was injured while trying to escape. The injured worker was hospitalized and in a stable condition, according to the press release. The local government has launched an investigation.
