Five people were killed and 11 others injured Friday in a traffic accident on a major motorway of Turkey's largest city Istanbul. A truck driver lost control of his vehicle on Istanbul's Trans European Motorway and slammed it into the metal dividers. The truck then crashed into multiple vehicles, including a minibus travelling in the opposite direction, the Turkish Dogan news agency reported. The accident occurred in the vicinity of Istanbul's Sultanbeyli district. Ambulances and fire-fighting teams experienced difficulties in reaching the scene of the accident due to heavy traffic caused by the accident. Among those killed were the truck driver and four passengers on the minibus. The injured were transferred to hospitals in the area.
