Five PKK militants were killed in a military operation Friday in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province, security sources said according to Turkish news agency (Anadolu).
The Turkish army shelled several areas in the province’s Semdinli district, said the sources, speaking on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking with the media.
Turkish jets have been carrying out strikes on PKK positions in Turkey and northern Iraq since the group resumed its 30-year armed campaign in July 2015.
