Five Syrians with links to the Islamic State (IS) group pleaded Wednesday not guilty to charges that they participated in the killing of Jordanian guards, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
The State Security Court charged the five Syrians with plotting to conduct terrorist attacks, participating in terrorist plots and using explosives that resulted in the death of several people.
They were also charged with attempting to smuggle explosives and weapons into Jordan.
The five were charged in taking part in an attack last year when a car drove at a high speed from a makeshift camp between Jordan and Syria in the no man's area and struck a military facility, killing several troops.
The news agency stated that those five were arrested by the security authority at the Syrian-Jordanian borders and the investigations revealed that they belonged to the IS, which claimed responsibility for the attack.
Jordan is part of the U.S.-led coalition to fight the IS in Syria and Iraq.
