At least seven people were killed and more than a dozen injured in mudslides triggered by heavy rainfall in Nepal''s western Rolpa district on Saturday, local media reported. Six houses in Ruinibang, in Rolpa district, were buried by landslides early Saturday, ekantipur news portal wrote. Police said that 18 people were rescued, adding that they were still searching for others trapped in the landslide. They said some of the buried buildings served as guest houses, meaning non-locals could have been among those trapped. The landslide was caused by incessant rainfall that the area has been receiving for many days. The monsoon rains, lasting from June to September in Nepal, kill hundreds and displace thousands every year.
