Arab Parliament Speaker Mashaal al Salami on Saturday urged the United Nations Security Council and Inter-Parliamentary Union to shoulder their responsibility and take measures required to condemn Israeli authorities' crimes against the Palestinians.
In two cables to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Chairman of the Inter Parliamentary Union Saber Chowdhury, Salami deplored Israeli decision to close Al Aqsa Mosque and prevent Muslim worshipers from entering it on Friday.
Salami also warned from Israeli plots against Islamic and Christian sanctities in the Palestinian territories especially Al Quds city.
On Friday, a shooting incident in the Old City of Al Quds left at least three Palestinians dead and others injured.
Following the shooting, the Israeli police declared that Friday's prayers would not be held at the holy site. The authorities also prevented any Palestinian officials or Muslim worshipers from entering the mosque.
