Moscow - Ria Novosti

At least 26 children were killed and 50 other injured, including adults, after a school bus crashed in the east of Pakistan, local Geo-TV reported on Tuesday. The school bus, carrying over 100 schoolchildren and about a dozen of school personnel, was returning from a trip to a salt mine on Monday, when it plunged into ditch in the area of Kalar Kahar, around 160 kilometers (some 99.5 miles) east of the capital, Islamabad. Preliminary investigative reports say that the accident occurred due to a malfunction in the braking system of the vehicle, police was quoted as saying.
