Cambodia and Vietnam on Monday signed a cooperation plan on the information sector in order to promote good and traditional relations between the peoples and the governments of the two countries. The agreement was inked by Cambodia's Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith and visiting Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son. The two-year plan will focus on capacity building for Cambodia' s information officials through exchange of visits, television programs, movies and documentaries in order to forge closer relationship between the peoples of the two countries. "Through the cooperation, I believe that both sides' peoples will have more understanding about one another and it will move ties closer on culture, tradition, trade, tourism and investment," Nguyen Bac Son said before the signing ceremony. Meanwhile, Khieu Kanharith said the cooperation was very significant to enhance Cambodian officials' abilities and upgrade TV programs and broadcasting services.
