Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said on Wednesday that China will expand pragmatic cooperation with Moldova in multiple fields. During a talk with Iurie Leanca, Moldova's deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs and european integration, Yang spoke highly of the achievements made thus far in bilateral relations. Yang said that China regards Moldova as an important partner both in central and eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region. Yang thanked Moldova for its support on issues concerning China's core interests, saying China will support Moldova in playing a more active role in international and regional affairs. Yang urged both countries to deepen mutual political trust and promote bilateral ties. Leanca said he appreciates China's long-term aid and support in Moldova's economic construction, adding that Moldova attaches great importance to its relations with China. Leanca reiterated that Moldova will stick to the one-China policy. He said he hopes both sides will enhance communication and coordination regarding international and regional affairs.
