Police in central China's Henan province said Tuesday that they had seized 210 million yuan (33 million U.S. dollars) worth of counterfeit drugs in the latest crackdown on illegal drug production. The confiscation came after police busted 187 dens that allegedly made or sold 240 million bogus pills and eyedrops, with their packages copied from 150 pharmaceutical brandnames, according to the Public Security Department of Henan. A total of 121 suspects were arrested in the campaign, which involved more than 3,000 police. Last month, another crackdown in the province ended with the seizure of 190 million yuan of counterfeit drugs.
