At least 15 more people have died as temperatures dipped in India's southern state of Andhra Pradesh pushing the national death toll due to the cold wave to 180, media reports said Tuesday. The deaths occurred in five districts including Karimnagar, Vishakhapatnam and Guntur since Sunday, the IANS news agency reported. Most of the victims were elderly and homeless people who were unable to bear the cold in the region known for its tropical weather. As many as 165 people have died due to the cold in other Indian states, with the northern state of Uttar Pradesh accounting for nearly 100 such deaths, local news outlets reported.
