A 20-year-old Emirati young man succumbed to fatal injuries he received in a gruesome traffic accident on the Julphar road in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
The victim, identified only as S.A.S., lost control over his SUV car, and turned over several times, Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, director general of the central operations room, RAK police, said on Wednesday.
The central operations room of the RAK Police, having been alerted of the collision, dispatched traffic police, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site in a record time.
"We have been alerted about the horrific accident that took place on the Julphar road late on Tuesday night, around 11.20pm."
Traffic enactment of the mishap showed that it was blamed on speeding and lack of attention on the road, Lt-Col Ibrahim Mohamed Mattar, Chief of Al Rams police station, said.
"The victim - who was driving at a high speed, lost control over the steering wheel, and veered off the road before turning over several times."
The young man could not make it and died on the spot, he added. "The paramedics tried hard to resuscitate the victim who received serious injuries and bled excessively, but in vain."
The corpse of the victim was shifted to the morgue of the hospital for burial by relatives as due while the accident file was referred to the bodies concerned for legal procedures.
Urging, Brigadier Humaidi said all drivers need to observe traffic rules and regulations to ensure road users' safety and theirs. "Drivers should be more attentive on the road, observe speed limits, and avoid driving while exhausted.
