A teenager has been found dead in the woods where his father's body was discovered almost six weeks ago, after shooting the boy's mother. The body of Jack Williams, 16, was discovered near where his father Darren died after the shooting in a Newport hair salon in August. Jack's mother Rachel, 39, who recently left hospital, was said to be devastated by her son's death. A family spokesman said Jack found it hard to come to terms with the events. Jack, a pupil at Newport High School, had been staying with his father's sister while his mother was in hospital. She came out of hospital at the weekend and Jack was reported missing on Monday evening. Police went to the woods where his father's body was found and discovered Jack. On Friday, 19 August, Darren Williams, 46, burst into the Carol-Ann Hair Salon in Malpas, where his estranged wife worked. He opened fire with a double-barrelled shotgun, wounding Mrs Williams, who needed a 10-hour operation to save her left leg. Connie Evans, a 92-year-old widow, and another elderly customer were also wounded. His ashes were scattered in the woods at Brynglas, Newport, after his funeral. The family spokesman said: "He was a sensitive young man - he wasn't coping with things. "His mother was shot and his dad found hanged, all within a couple of hours. Very, very upset' "Now Rachel is going through hell all over again. She is aware that Jack was very, very upset by the whole business." Mrs Williams has undergone extensive reconstructive surgery at Morriston Hospital in Swansea over the past month. While she was recovering in hospital, she said: "I have no doubt he came to kill me." Jack was the couple's only child, and his mother has a son from a previous relationship. His parents had split up weeks before the shooting and put their family home up for sale. The Gwent coroner confirmed that Jack was found dead in the woods. Gwent Police confirmed they were investigating Jack's death but said there were no suspicious circumstances. An inquest is due to be opened after a post-mortem examination is carried out.
