Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi left Tehran Tuesday morning for a Latin American tour which will take him to Cuba and Ecuador where he will review issues of mutual interests with senior officials of those countries. Speaking to reporters prior to his departure, Rahimi said he is due to attend the 15th session of Iran-Cuba joint economic commission to be held in Havana. Expansion of Tehran-Havana trade relations is among other objectives of his visit to that Latin American state, the VP noted. While, in Quito, the Iranian official is to confer with top Ecuadorian officials on bilateral cooperation in various oil, gas and industrial fields. He reiterated that his trips are taking place in response to the previous visits to Tehran of his counterparts.
