Zanjan - Irna

Judiciary Chief said here Wednesday in order to settle down recent financial fraud file properly officials are advised to stop expressing futile opinions on it and let us make people’s expectations come true. According to the dispatched IRNA reporter to Zanjan, Ayatollah Sedeq Amoli-Larijani made the advice at the Administrative Council of Zanjan Province Wednesday night, pointing out that in expressing opinions the economic security of the people should be kept strictly in mind. He added, “The media, and particularly the printed mass media should not begin blackmailing one-sidedly, or to condemn anyone they do not like haphazardly.” The Judiciary Chief added that the people are the masters of the system’s officials, adding, “The people’s expectations from their officials are just and right and if we would not perform our duties in accordance with the people’s expectations we would be trapped amid a great strategic mistake.” Ayatollah Larijani emphasized that the strength and stability of the system depends on the satisfaction of the people, adding, “If the people are not pleased with the system’s officials, the system’s legitimacy would be gradually put on stake.” He noted that some officials have unfortunately forgotten their duties, adding, “The people’s expectations from the Judiciary Force are many, and most of them, too, are righteous.” Ayatollah Larijani said that countering the social delinquencies and economic frauds are among the duties of the Judiciary Force, and that is what the people expect of that branch of the system, arguing, “In order to meet that important end, serious efforts have been made and the entire judiciary officials have made up their minds to safeguard the people’s economic and social security most resolutely.” He emphasized that the Judiciary Force is quite serious in issues related to the system’s security, particularly to the economic security of the Iranian citizens, reiterating, “Today at Tehran Economic Frauds Judiciary Complex many important files have been surveyed and some of them, too, have been finalized, but we have not announced the outcomes, since we are not after propagation, as that is not our job.” The Judiciary Chief said that the list of the economically corrupt personalities has been received at the Judiciary Force, adding, “In the list forwarded to the Judiciary System there were the names of some people whose files had been finalized years ago, but there are also some whose files are under survey presently at the country’s courts of justice.” Ayatollah Larijani pointed out that the expectation of the Judiciary System is assistance in identification and pursuing the financially corrupt figures, adding, “The list forwarded to the Judiciary System after the passage of so many years must be a reliable one.” Reiterating that in issues related to financial corruption we should not be chanting slogans and propagating, he said, “The Judiciary Force was informed of the recent financial fraud case on August 6th this year and as soon as being informed of it the Khuzestan Province Branch of the Judiciary Force began a vast scale investigation.” The Judiciary Chief said that this is a complicated file, adding, “In this file there is a person who has taking advantage of government and non-government rents established 39 companies, and through these companies he has opened several letters of credit (LCs) in banks.” Ayatollah Larijani further stressed that this is a macro-scale financial corruption case, arguing, “The officials should not act hurriedly in expressing opinion over this file, since the various aspects of this case are under survey at the Judiciary System presently.” He reiterated, “The nature of the acts committed in this file must be surveyed and the Judiciary System is busy considering the case comprehensively.” The Judiciary Chief reiterated, “beyond doubt this huge-scale corruption has not emerged spontaneously and out of nowhere, as it could not have occurred without having received assistance from various sources.” Ayatollah Larijani emphasized that the Judiciary System is resolute in dealing with the involved figures in this file, saying, “All the people involved in a way in this file would be summoned by the Judiciary Force and arrest warrants would be issued against them, as well.” He added, “I hope no one would define red lines for us, because we are deaf for hearing such warnings, as red lines have no meaning in Islam.” The Judiciary Chief pointing out that destructive efforts against the Judiciary System have already been clicked, said, “The people might do with poverty, but they cannot come to terms with oppression and corruption.” Ayatollah Larijani reiterated, “If the people would see that the system officials are dealing with this file resolutely and effectively this move would definitely lead to the strength of the (Islamic) system.” Elsewhere in his comments Ayatollah Larijani referred to the high level of the people’s expectations also from the government, arguing, “These vast-scale expectations are righteous and they must be met in various fields.” Referring to the implementation of the goal-orientation of subsidies law, Larijani said, “That was a brave act and the government spent tremendous efforts in doing so, while the previous governments were scared of approaching this law and rejected it.” Pointing out that heeding the status of the country’s industrial units is up to the government, he said, “Unfortunately the raised rates of fuels and the increased work force salaries have put heavy burdens on the shoulders of the factory owners, so that some of them have gone bankrupt and some, too, are about to shut down their industrial units.” The Judiciary Chief reiterated, “The government spends hard efforts aimed at solving these problem but the people’s expectations are beyond that as the people’s main concern is not the factory owners, but the employment of the factory workers, who become unemployed with the closure of the factories.”
