Tokyo - Qna

Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura says Japan will continue to collect information on the cause of an explosion at a nuclear waste processing plant in France. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Fujimura said the French authorities insist that there has been no leak of radioactivity outside the facility and that the fire that caused the explosion has been extinguished, according to Japanese (NHK WORLD). Nuclear crisis minister Goshi Hosono said the episode will not greatly change reprocessing or fast-breeder reactor projects in Japan. He added that it should serve as an opportunity for Japan to discuss what kind of judgments to make about its own nuclear policies.
