Afaq Ahmed, Chairman of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H), who won freedom after seven years early this week, has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) against the Director General of the Rangers, Sindh, for not providing him proper security. He sought action against the Rangers chief for contempt of court saying that the official has not been given due security despite the order of the SHC, which set him free. The petition submitted through Iqbal Kazmi, advocate, complained that the Ranger has violated the explicit court order.Ahmed has always expressed apprehensions that he would be fatally attacked by his political opponent without the proper government security. On his request, the SHC had directed the Rangers to provide him adequate security.Altaf Hussain led Muthidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) is staunchly opposed to the MQM-H chief and wants him to be away from politics in Karachi considering the city its sole citadel of power.
