A murder investigation is under way after two bodies were found at a house in Birmingham. West Midlands Police were called to an address in Friary Road, Handsworth Wood, just after 08:00 GMT. The body of a 62-year-old man and a 58-year old woman were discovered inside the property. Police believe the couple were subjected to an assault. Their family has been informed, but the bodies have yet to be formally identified. Det Supt Richard Baker said: "Our thoughts are with the family of this couple and the community in which they lived." He said 60 officers were working on the inquiry and added that "neighbourhood officers are currently out in the local area delivering reassurance messages".
