U.S. President Barack Obama says the United States remains committed to Israel. In a video address Tuesday before the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, Obama said his administration is working to promote prosperity at home and security and peace throughout the world. "While we cannot know all that the New Year will bring, we do know this: the United States will continue to stand with Israel, because the bond between our two nations is unshakable," he said. Obama said the past year was full of struggle and hardship for people around the world and Israel faces the "uncertainties of an unpredictable age." "As Jewish tradition teaches us, we may not complete the work, but that must never keep us from trying," he said.
