One worker died and five were injured in an explosion at a factory on Friday in east China's Zhejiang Province, local fire authorities said. The blast occurred around 9 a.m. at a polishing factory in the Ouhai district in the city of Wenzhou. Six workers were injured in the blast, and one of them died in hospital. Investigators confirmed that the explosion occurred when aluminite powder, a raw material for making polishing products, stored at the factory caught fire. Witnesses said there were more than ten people working in the factory when the accident happened, and the factory house was blown open by the powerful explosion. Firefighters rushed to the site shortly after the accident and extinguished the fire. Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. On Oct. 24 aluminite powder caught fire in another Wenzhou factory, causing an explosion that left 16 people seriously injured and forced the evacuations of more than 100 nearby residents.
