Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf met a number of members of Parliament in the British House of Commons on Friday. The parliamentarians are to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia soon. During the meeting, the prince expressed his happiness at the British delegation’s visit to the Kingdom, adding that the visit would enable them to personally witness the developments achieved by the Kingdom in various fields. He described the visit as a great opportunity that will allow them to deeply understand the Kingdom, the government, culture and people, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The prince added, “We're not trying to exaggerate, but we are keen to see and hear for yourself during the visit to the Kingdom and through your meetings there, that the Kingdom is not only keen on having prosperity and stability in the country, but also seeks stability and prosperity of the region as a whole. This is clear from the wise, balanced and peaceful policy of the Saudi government under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah.” He indicated that the Kingdom is changing for the better at a balanced pace. He stressed that rapid change has negative consequences and they are clear in a number of examples in the region. Prince Mohammed addressed the deputies saying that their counterparts in the Kingdom are looking forward to the delegation’s visit so that they can hold open discussions with them and to exchange ideas on important global issues. “I hope that this meeting today will be the beginning of those discussions. I am keen to listen to your views and answer any question relating to the Kingdom,” Prince Mohammed said. He said, “Friendship between Saudi Arabia and United Kingdom dates back to a long time, and as we are friends let our discussions be open and frank.” Member of Parliament Daniel Kawczynski said that the delegation is looking forward to the visit, the third to the Kingdom, following the successful two previous trips. He said such visits are key as they provide a chance for MPs to meet their counterparts in the Kingdom and learn closely and in depth about the Kingdom’s developments.
