Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has condemned, in the strongest terms, the terrorist suicide attack that targeted the UN office in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, killing and wounding scores of innocent civilians . Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said that such a « criminal » attack cannot be justified and it is is disharmony with the noble values of Islam. He also reiterated OIC’s firm stances rejecting all types of terrorism, calling upon Nigerian authorities to identify the criminals as soon as possible and arrest them. Prof. Ihsanoglu offered his heartfelt condolences to families of the victims, wishing the wounded quick recovery.
