The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said Thursday the Syrian President Bashar Al Assad regime's forces and their allies have surrounded terrorist Daesh group's militants in Al Badia, central and northeastern parts of Syria, Saudi Al Arabiya TV news channel reported.
The regime's forces were able to cut Daesh's lines of supply in these parts, in preparation for pushing Daesh out of those areas before starting the battle for the liberation of Deir Ez Zor city in east Syria, which is considered to be the group's last remaining stronghold, UK-based SOHR added.
The Syrian forces had earlier recaptured a number of areas from Daesh near the Syrian-Lebanese borders after heavy clashes with the group's militants.
