Spokesperson for Joint Operations Command Yahya Rasool
Baghdad - Egypt Today

Spokesperson for Joint Operations Command Yahya Rasool said on Tuesday that Liberating al Aiyada and Tal Afar will be within the coming hours as Iraqi forces have fully controlled the situation.

Daesh terrorists have been trapped at the borders of al Aiyada city, Rasool noted.

Air strikes launched by Iraqi army in cooperation with the Federal Police (FP) on Tal Afar were totally successful, Rasool expounded in a call with Iraqiya TV channel.

Such strikes resulted in eliminating a large number of Daesh elements, Rasool noted.

Rasool added that lack of civilians in al Aiyada city facilitated carrying out strong strikes against Daesh.

Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Haider Al-Abadi announced on Aug. 20 launching military operation to retake Tal Afar from Daesh.
