At least 307 Thais have been killed in the worst flood in decades and three others remain missing, Wibul Sangaunpong, director-general of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said on Monday. Flood waters have not yet subsided in 27 provinces in 56 provinces affected by flooding. Since the heavy flooding caused by tropical storms and monsoon rains ravaged the country in late July, over 2.3 million people have been suffering. Two-thirds of the country has witnessed the worst inundation which has so far disconnected more than 200 highways and roads and crippled northbound rail lines. Almost a thousand of enterprises were forced to halt their operation.
