Turkish gendarmerie has arrested 45 migrants in the northwestern state of Edirne who were illegally trying to leave the country. Security sources said the migrants were Syrian, Pakistani, Moroccan and Argentinian, according to Anadolu Agency (AA).
One person was arrested on suspicion of smuggling people, while the other 44 were transferred to the state's immigration center. There is no information about the destination of the migrants, but mostly to Bulgaria or Greece. Edirne is located in the Turkish border with Bulgaria and Greece.
