Jordan’s State Security Court Amman – Osama al-Rantisi Jordan’s State Security Court has decided to release female activist Ola el-Safy with a ransom. The 52-year-old was arrested last month during protests in Jordan against the decision to remove fuel subsidies. Jordanian authorities arrested 114 citizens during the protests, and like el-Safy, they will be released quite soon according to the court. Staff of Jordan’s National Centre for Human Rights said that el-Safy had been assaulted during her imprisonment as well as the primary investigations conducted with her. The assaults left bruises on her body. Staff from the centre managed to meet with 89 of the protesters arrested in different rehabilitation centres.
