International Women’s Media Foundation reporting trips Deadline: April 1, 2016

Women journalists worldwide can take a reporting trip to Central Africa with the International Women’s Media Foundation. Two groups of journalists will report on civic engagement issues from the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. National Endowment for Democracy grants Deadline: April 1, 2016

Independent media organizations, civic groups and associations can seek funding for projects that advance democratic ideals through the National Endowment for Democracy. Grant amounts vary, but the average grant lasts 12 months and is around US$50,000. For more information, click here.

Society of Environmental Journalists awards Deadline: April 1, 2016

Journalists worldwide can compete for this award, which recognizes excellence in environmental coverage. Categories include outstanding feature story, outstanding in-depth reporting, outstanding photography and best environmental book. Data Journalism Awards Deadline: April 10, 2016

Each year, the Global Editors Network (GEN) hosts the Data Journalism Awards to recognize the best data-driven journalism from media organizations and journalists worldwide. Leica Oskar Barnack Award Deadline: April 15, 2016

If your photography captures the relationship between humans and the environment, you could win the Leica Oskar Barnack Award. Prizes include a Leica M camera and a lens worth EUR10,000 (US$10,857) in addition to a cash prize of EUR25,000 (US$27,144). The contest also features the Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award, given to any (prospective) professional photographer age 25 or under, and the Leica Oskar Barnack Public Award.
