Egyptian parliamentarian Mohamed Al-Orabi revealed that the major reasons behind the latest Aqsa crisis are the Palestinian division, Arab weakness, absence of American desire to resolve the problem and the Israeli hardline position towards the Palestinians.
He added that the Arab position from the latest developments witnessed in Aqsa Mosque was not at the required level, saying that the Arab countries need a better movement away from statements of condemnation and condemnation of Jerusalem's violations by Israelis.
The Egyptian parliamentarian, who served as Egypt’s Foreign Minister in 2011, added, “We need international action from countries that have a weight in the region and have influence in the international resolution such as Egypt, Jordan and the United States of America.”
The former Foreign Minister stressed the need to direct all efforts for the intervention of the UN Security Council in this crisis to stop the Israeli border. He underestimated the results of the latest Arab Parliamentary Union Meeting.
He added that what the Arab Parliamentary Union has done to address other parliaments and Israel has not taken note of its recommendations. Ambassador Mohammed Al-Orabi confirmed that it was not only statements of condemnation and condemnation of what was happening, but the correct pressure is to oblige international organizations to force Israel to abandon its hostile policy against the Palestinian people.
Regarding the state of division among the Palestinian factions, especially between the Fatah and Hamas movements, MP Mohammed al-Orabi said during the interview: "This reinforces the Israeli saying," We do not know how to deal with it. "Therefore, the continuation of the conflict and the betrayal among the Palestinian factions is in the interest of Israel.
