A line-up of surprises, excitement, entertainment and superb family fun is set to further brighten up the summer in Dubai with the launch of the 18th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) - the longest running and most successful summer festival of its kind in the region.

Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), DSS 2015 will run from today until September 5 under the theme '45 Days of Summer', offering fantastic shopping, entertainment, leisure and winning opportunities for residents and visitors from around the world.

A packed calendar of family-oriented events, headlined by a number of celebrity appearances, world premieres, grand concerts, the most number of retail promotions offering millions of dirhams in prizes combined with excellent shopping rewards will set the stage for a one-of-a-kind summer extravaganza in Dubai.

Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of DFRE, said: "After the successful conclusion of the 8th edition of 'Eid in Dubai - Eid Al Fitr', we are looking forward to the next best edition of the emirate's flagship summer festival - Dubai Summer Surprises.

An exciting calendar of events, child-friendly edutainment destinations such as Modhesh World, world-class leisure experiences and incredible retail activations and promotions make DSS a complete family extravaganza, drawing millions of visitors to Dubai each year.

"DSS strives to offer our residents and visitors something unique and exciting, and for the 18th edition we have worked hard to give DSS visitors an unparalleled summer holiday experience underlined by an exciting slogan "45 Days of Summer".

With Dubai being a thriving retail hub in the region, our line-up of events and activities for DSS 2015 includes the most number of retail promotions in a single summer season headlined by an innovative retail initiative, The Big Summer Sale, a first of its kind in the region.
