The meeting , which was held in Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa, included officials from the Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture (ADATC), Etihad Airways, 50 hotels and resorts, and 14 leisure facilities and tourist places in the emirate. The audience listened to discourses on the promotional campaign, which aims to increase domestic and Gulf tourism during the summer months Nasser Al-Riyami, the director of tourism standards in the ADATC, said : “The cooperation and support shown by the partners of the tourism industry in the emirate reflects the size of the development of the 'Summer in Abu Dhabi' festival which has become an essential factor in attracting visitors to the emirate." "Summer in Abu Dhabi", which drew 90,000 visitors the last time, is considered a cornerstone of the promotional summer campaign, organised by the emirate, and includes entertainment shows and educational events which will be held in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre for the entire month. The festival will continue during the period from June 21 to July 19 in four halls of the centre with programmes of games, recreational activities and educational events for the whole family. Faisal Al-Sheikh, the director of events in ADATC, said the events and activities of the festival that runs for 29 days will change the concept of entertainment and will attract local and Gulf families. He said: “The festival will spread an atmosphere of pleasure and fun in Abu Dhabi through a wide range of recreational activities and summer adventures along with promotional offers, which vary from free travel for children by Etihad Airways,  free rooms for children in hotels and resorts and two-for-one ticket deals."
