French luxury house Yves Saint Laurent found inspiration in leather for its Fall 2014 makeup line.
With patent stilettos, jackets and handbags, leather accessories have recently invaded haute couture shows and fashion as a whole. With this in mind, Lloyd Simmonds, Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Make-Up Creative Director, chose the material as inspiration for the iconic brand's new line.
Creating a rock chic look, he opted for brown tones and hues ranging from dark black to bronze, with a matte or lacquered finish, as well as nude and red shades.
The "Cuirs Fétiches" collection consists of the Couture Collector Fétiche Palette (five shades from iridescent camel to matte black as well as green and gold), a standard Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara as well as a Baby Doll special edition, a Baby Doll eyeliner in blue and grey, and a Couture Les Grainés Lacquer in blue and taupe.
British supermodel Cara Delevingne represents the line, which will go on sale on August 25.
