What some of the designs may look like London - Arabstoday Fashion powerhouse Gucci is set to launch a new made-to-measure collection in June, designed by creative director Frida Giannini in partnership with Italian businessman Lapo Elkann. Entitled Lapo's Wardrobe, the personalised offering is described as "a luxury sartorial service for the modern day gentleman". The 27-piece collection will comprise 23 looks for men and four for women - including leather goods, shoes and jewellery - and offers a new take on Gucci's existing made-to-measure offering. The customer will be assisted by specialist staff through fabric selection, to fitting, final touches and delivery - which will require from four to six weeks. "Gucci's made-to-measure programme is the pinnacle of our Made in Italy expertise and allows each man to express his own style impeccably," said Giannini. "Lapo perfectly embodies my vision of Italian style as an attitude, an instinct to interpret fashion in an individual yet sophisticated way. Lapo pays great attention to detail and is never afraid to take risks." Lapo's Wardrobe collection will probably be unveiled during the spring/summer 2013 Milan menswear shows in June, to coincide with the opening of a new dedicated Gucci men's store. The service will initially be available at Gucci boutiques in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Sao Paulo. "I am excited and honoured that the Lapo's Wardrobe project is being brought to life by Gucci, which is synonymous for Italian excellence and craftsmanship," said Elkann. "It was a great experience to build this capsule collection together with Frida: we share a love and respect for tradition, yet we are not afraid to dare and experiment. It is the combination of both that I believe is exemplified in the pieces we designed and created."
