Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, have strongly condemned the terror attack on a Mosque in Quebec, Canada, killing 6 people and injuring 8 others.
In a statement, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif said that these hateful attacks, that kill and violate the sanctity of Mosques, lead to the dissemination of sedition, hatred, racism and extremism.
Al-Azhar also called for the need to protect Mosques from any aggression, respect their sanctity, and provide a secure environment for people to perform their religious rites, stressing that terrorism is prohibited by all religions and international laws norms.
The statement extended the deepest condolences of Al-Azhar to the families of the martyrs, praying for mercy and forgiveness for them, and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
