The Armenian Embassy in Cairo condemned on Monday the terrorist blast that targeted the Boutroseya Church in Cairo's Abbassiya district yesterday.

The blast left 23 persons dead and 49 others injured.

In a statement, the embassy condemned all forms of terrorism, expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

The explosion happened at about 10:00 local time during a Sunday service.

A video footage showed the interior of the church littered with broken and scattered furniture, along with blood and clothing on the floor.

Following the attack, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced three days of national mourning.
