The Director General of the Arab Women Organization (AWO) Mervat Tallawy condemned on Monday the terrorist attacks that hit Mar Gerges and St Mark churches in Tanta and Alexandria respectively.
The assault left dozens of people dead and injured.
In a statement, Tallawy offered condolences to the Egyptian people, Copts and families of victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded.
She further mourned the death of the first female martyr in the history of the Interior Ministry Brigadier General Nagwa el Hagar who breathed her last during Alexandria attack.
The two attacks are meant to foment sectarian sedition in the country, the statement read.
Tallawy urged uniting efforts and renewing religious discourse to overcome black terrorism.
