British Prime Minister Theresa May spoke with her Swedish counterpart Stefan L?fven on Saturday and offered to work together against extremist attacks, the Guardian reported.
A Downing Street statement said May expressed her condolences on behalf of the British people in a telephone call to L?fven.
The statement said the leaders agreed on the importance of working together to tackle such threats.
A major police investigation is underway after a hijacked truck, which was reportedly loaded with a homemade bomb, was driven into crowds in a busy shopping area in central Stockholm, killing at least four people and injuring 15.
